September 21, 2026 — N. Woodstock, NH — The driver affectionately known as “The Screaming Eagle” scored another successful landing this past Saturday, September 19. Candia, New Hampshire’s Jimmy Renfrew Jr. took the lead halfway through the Fall Foliage 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park and made it look easy down the stretch for his second straight Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model victory and fourth of the year.

It was a particularly meaningful and joyous win for the young veteran. In two previous visits to White Mountain this season, Renfrew was leading before trouble found him and snatched victory away. The third time was the charm, though, as Renfrew continued his late-season charge.

Polesitter Ryan Kuhn led the charge early as Renfrew was forced to come from 13^th on the starting grid. After an early lap-three caution when J.P. Josiasse slid into the turn three tire barrier, Kuhn went back and forth with Wayne Helliwell Jr. before securing the top spot.

Kuhn remained the leading man through a long green-flag run as Joey Doiron moved into second, but the Eagle was soaring. He needed only 31 laps to crack the top three. From there, he swept past Doiron on lap 50, then clawed around Kuhn on lap 75 to move to the point.

The second caution on lap 120 for Jesse Switser’s turn-two spin shuffled the field behind Renfrew with several contenders pitting. On the restart, PASS North points runner-up Gabe Brown slashed from fifth to second — but Renfrew was already long gone, flying away from Brown and third-place man Johnny Clark.

Given Renfrew’s checkered recent history at White Mountain, though, it was fitting there would be one last challenge. Pat Corbett’s automobile ground to a halt at the top of turn two with four laps to go and needed to be towed away. That set up a four-lap dash to the pay window. This time, nothing stood in Renfrew’s way, as he darted away from the field for a cathartic win.

Brown finished second while Clark survived a brief scuffle with Cole Robie on the last restart to take third. Robie and Trevor Sanborn completed the top five while Kuhn faded to sixth. Alexendre Tardif recovered from a midrace excursion through the grass to come home seventh, followed by Sylas Ripley, Doiron, and Helliwell.

The other major story from the event was the odyssey of PASS North point leader D.J. Shaw. While battling for the lead in his heat race, the engine expired in Shaw’s machine. The team went to a backup car for the feature, and while Shaw climbed as high as sixth after starting last, late handling woes relegated him to an 11^th-place result.

As such, Brown cut 20 points off Shaw’s point lead and is now 50 markers behind. PASS heads to Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on September 26 and 27 for Spencer Group Paving PASS 400, with each of the three segments counting for full PASS North championship points. As such, both drivers have a lot on the line, with Sanborn, Renfrew, Doiron, and Robie also having opportunities to get back into the mix.

The two-day PASS 400 Weekend has 10 exciting divisions on the card. The three-segment 400 for PASS North Super Late Models will be held on Sunday, September 27, along with the $5,000-to-win Limited/Street Stock Open, the Modified Racing Series, and the Kennebec Equipment Rental PASS Modifieds. The Saturday, September 26 card includes PASS North and PASS Mod qualifying plus the 350 Supermodified Triple 25s, the Green Lawn Solutions Mad Bomber 80, the KHM Thunder Stocks, the 207 Flight School Runnin’ Rebels, the GoMotorsportsShop.com NELCAR Legends, and the Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association.

Renfrew Charges from 13^th to Win Chummy Brown Memorial

September 14, 2026 — Epping, NH — Chelmsford, Massachusetts veteran Jon McKennedy extended his recent control over the Bob Webber Sr. Memorial Star Classic at New Hampshire’s Star Speedway by capturing the 61^st edition on Saturday, September 12.

McKennedy took the lead from hometown racer Dan Bowes on a lap 28 restart en route to his sixth victory in the crown jewel event for the New England Supermodified Series (NESS). It was McKennedy’s sixth victory in the event, all coming since 2013.

Starting fifth after winning his qualifier, McKennedy dodged an opening-circuit spin by Mark “Sparky” MacIver, then bided his time early in the 100-lap event. After methodically taking over second from polesitter Dave Duggan, McKennedy was stalking Bowes when the track’s red-flag lights inadvertently came on at lap 28, triggering the second and final caution.

McKennedy got the jump on Bowes when the race resumed, darting out to a big lead. Reigning Star Classic Champion Jeffrey Battle moved into the runner-up spot for good on lap 60 after a back-and-forth with Bowes and seemed poised to challenge for the lead.

But despite being hung up a couple of times in lapped traffic, McKennedy had too much in the tank. He put the power down in his Chris Ferreira-owned #79 and cruised to the victory by over seven seconds. The win matched Bentley Warren for the second-most Star Classic championships. McKennedy now trails only Russ Wood (seven wins) on the all-time list.

Battle finished second to maintain his NESS point lead over P.J. Stergios, who caught Bowes late for third. Bowes finished fourth with Oswego Speedway invader Dan Connors Jr. completing the top five.

A season-high 16 NESS cars checked in for the Star Classic. Fourteen started the main event after Eric Lewis had mechanical problems in practice and Anthony Nocella hit the wall in qualifying.

The event was also the final round of the Dr. Mom Says School is School Challenge. After the chance die rolled a “9” in Victory Lane, the odd-numbered finishers evenly split $12,000 in bonus money. The Challenge point standings are pending as of press time.

In the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models, Candia, New Hampshire’s Jimmy Renfrew Jr. became the first three-time winner of the season by taking the Chummy Brown Memorial 144. Renfrew started 13^th, but quickly and aggressively sliced his way through the field as Joey Doiron pulled away with the early lead.

Renfrew was up to third when the yellow flag flew on lap 79 for Cole Robie’s spin. On the restart, Renfrew quickly darted underneath Kuhn to second, then snuck to the inside of Doiron in turn three. Doiron didn’t surrender, though, and the duo went wheel to wheel for nearly 10 laps with nobody giving an inch.

Coming out of turn four to complete lap 89, the two touched doors and got sideways. The break in momentum caused Kuhn to tap Doiron, sending the Petit Motorsports Machine spinning into turn one for the event’s final caution flag.

From there, it was all Renfrew as Kuhn started to fade. Sylas Ripley moved up to second after the final restart, but never could reach Renfrew, who flew to the victory.

Gabe Brown completed the podium, followed by Derek Griffith and Johnny Clark. PASS North point leader D.J. Shaw fought handling woes all night but salvaged a sixth-place finish. Kuhn, Dan Winter, Garrett Hall, and Bobby Baillargeon rounded out the top 10.

The 50-lap Kennebec Equipment Rental PASS Modified feature saw West Bath, Maine’s Reed Reno take his second win of the season in a wild finish. Jeremy Davis had charged from 15^th on the starting grid to take the lead with 11 laps remaining after polesitter Spencer Vaughn spun out of the top spot.

Davis seemed home free, but as the field was preparing to receive the two-to-go signal, Thomas Brackett spun in turn two. Brackett got his car going as the leaders were approaching, and the race stayed green. Davis hesitated in the smoke, and Reno kept his foot to the floorboard, swinging beneath Davis on the backstretch.

Davis didn’t have enough time to counter, and Reno sped to the win. The chaos continued on the final circuit, as Spencer Morse looped it while battling with Chanler Harrison for fourth place, and then several cars piled up in turn one after taking the checkered flag.

Davis was relegated to a disappointing second-place finish, while Cody Macomber was elated after coming from last in the 17-car field to take third. Harrison, point leader Jacoby Maines, Zach Bowie, Bill Penfold, Vaughn, Alex Smith, and Morse were fourth through 10^th.

The PASS Super Late Models travel to North Woodstock, New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday, September 19, as part of a Fall Foliage Tripleheader with the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour and Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA). Post time is 5:00pm.

The Kennebec Equipment Rental PASS Mods will next be seen at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway for a 75-lap showdown as part of Spencer Group Paving PASS 400 Weekend on September 26 and 27. The New England Supermodified Series has two weekends off before heading to Vermont’s Thunder Road on Saturday, October 3, for Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Milk Bowl Qualifying Day.

Naples, Maine — September 9, 2026 — Officials at Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) and the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) have announced that Spencer Group Paving will once again serve as a primary supporter of the highly anticipated PASS 400 Weekend, marking its sixth consecutive year in this role. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, at the historic Oxford Plains Speedway.

Spencer Group Paving, a well-respected name in Maine’s paving and construction industry, has built a strong reputation for quality workmanship at a great price and timely delivery throughout the region. Their continued support of the PASS 400 Weekend underscores their commitment to OPS and PASS, helping ensure the event continues to grow.

The PASS 400 Weekend continues to be showcased as one of the marquee short track racing events in New England, featuring a unique triple-segment format for Super Late Models that challenges both drivers and teams. This year’s format will once again include two 100-lap segments and a 200-lap final segment, all counting toward PASS North championship points.  The top 25 finishers from segments one and two will be inverted to start the next segment.

This year’s purse was also spread across the entire field to make it easier for any team to compete. Each segment will pay $2,000 to win and $400 to start, providing strong incentives across the board for competitors. The combined performance across all three races will determine an overall purse winner for the 400-lap event, with a lucrative $10,000 prize awarded to the top performer and $800 guaranteed for the final finishing position. The total purse for the PASS 400 Weekend stands at an impressive $112,300, making it one of the richest events on the regional racing calendar.

“We wanted to really put as much money as we could on the back half of the field to make it feasible for as many teams to come and participate as possible,” said Mayberry. “With a minimum of $2,000 just for starting, we hope that makes it an affordable race and encourages a strong turnout.”

The three-leg PASS 400 format has consistently delivered thrilling side-by-side racing and dramatic finishes, and expectations are high for another exciting showcase of talent this September. The structure rewards both consistency and outright speed, creating a compelling narrative throughout the weekend.

In addition to the headline Super Late Model action, the weekend will also feature a Limited/Street Stock special paying $5,000 to win. This event will consist of two 50-lap segments and will be open to both Limited and Street Stock competitors as it was in 2025.

Additionally, for the first time, Green Lawn Solutions Mad Bomber competitors will be eligible to compete in the 100-lap Limited/Street Stock event with some alterations, adding a new dynamic to the race. The Mad Bombers will also have their own 80-lap feature on Saturday, giving the division even more excitement throughout the weekend.

A trio of Modified classes will participate throughout the weekend. The Modified Racing Series (MRS) makes its second stop at the speedway in 2026 as they will compete in a 75-lap feature on Sunday, September 27 as a part of their championship series.

The 350 Supermodifieds will race in three 25-lap features on Saturday, September 26 as they join PASS 400 Weekend for the first time.  With early entry, the overall winner will pocket $2,000 with a guaranteed $500 to start.  Entry forms are posted on www.proallstarsseries.com.

The Kennebec Equipment Rental PASS Modifieds will also be in action, competing in a 75-lap points paying contest that will help shape the season-long championship battle. Known for their aggressive racing style, the PASS Mods are expected to provide some of the most intense on-track battles of the event.
