-
MIKE
ROWE IS THE AIM RECYCLING USA PASS
NORTH SUPER LATE MODEL 2015 CHAMPION |
Oxford, Maine -- Jeff Taylor
of Farmington nailed down his first
victory of the season in dominant
fashion, outrunning all AIM
Recycling USA PASS North Super Late
Model rivals as the touring series
closed out its' 2015 championship
season Sunday afternoon at Oxford
Plains Speedway.
An
eighth-place finish was plenty good
enough for Maine Hall of Fame racer
Mike Rowe to add yet another
championship to his extensive short
track racing resume, this one the
AIM Recycling USA PASS North Super
Late Model title.
Rowe, who
is also the winningest driver in the
history of Oxford Plains Speedway
and a seven-time track champion in
the top class, had previously won
PASS South and PASS National titles,
but this was his first Pro All Stars
Series championship won on native
Maine pavement.

JOHNNY CLARK
FIRST FOUR-TIME
WINNER
OF SOUTHERN MAINE
CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP 300
|
Scarborough, Maine -- Johnny
Clark of Farmingdale broke a
season-long dry spell on the
AIM Recycling USA Pro All
Stars Series North Super
Late Model circuit on
Sunday, powering his way to
an impressive victory over a
fast-closing Mike Rowe in
the Southern Maine Chrysler
Jeep Dodge 300 at Beech
Ridge Motor Speedway in
Scarborough.
For Clark, a
six-time PASS North series
champion, it was a
record-setting fourth
triumph in the 300-lap
annual September classic at
Southern Maine's stock car
racing showcase. Though he'd
won a 50-lap Budweiser
Championship Series race
this summer at Oxford Plains
Speedway, success on the
tour that he was the
all-time kingpin on had been
non-existent.
While
suffering through an
exceptionally disappointing
campaign in the PASS North
SLM ranks, Clark's woes were
further compounded by a work
accident that saw him break
a shoulder and foot just
five weeks before the Beech
Ridge score.
"I felt
pretty good in the car,"
said Clark in victory lane.
"We finished second to
Cassius (Clark, no relation)
in New Brunswick, and
frankly he had us covered
today and if he didn't have
problems with the car we
would have been second to
him today."

ANNUAL AIM OXFORD 250 |
Oxford, Maine - Glen
Luce of Turner scored an
emotional victory, and a
$30,000-plus payday, in
Sunday's 42nd Annual AIM
Recycling USA Oxford 250 at
Oxford Plains Speedway.
For Luce, who once
finished second to NASCAR
star Kevin Harvick in the
annual classic, it was not
only a career highlight, but
a dream come true for
someone who grew up at the
historic Maine racetrack.
After drawing a
dead-last starting spot in
his heat race, Luce worked
his way into fourth place,
earning the 22nd starting
position in the 250. Twice
he worked his way into
contention before pitting
for tires, first for a pair,
later for a full, fresh set.
After outgunning
Berwick's Joey Doiron for
the lead, Luce outran
Manchester teenager Reid
Lanpher to the checkered
flag. For both Luce and
Lanpher it was a career-best
PASS Super Late Model
finish, coming in the
biggest-paying race of the
year.

Doiron Wins at
Airborne Park Speedway
|
Plattsburg, NY (July
18) - Berwick Maine's Joey
Doiron pulled into victory
lane with a left front flat
tire. Doiron was thankful
that the final 100 laps were
not anything like the first
100 laps. One extra caution
in the final 100 laps would
have made a huge difference
in the race outcome for
Doiron. Following an
eventful first half of the
200-lap PASS feature, which
saw seven caution flags,
Doiron took the lead on Lap
111 and never looked back to
score his second victory of
the 2015 PASS racing season.
The first 100 laps
would see seven caution
flags, before the
competition yellow was shown
at Lap 101 to allow teams to
take 2 tires, fuel, and much
needed fluids for the
drivers. The first caution
of the day would fly at Lap
29 when the 91QC of Patrick
Laperle would spin off turn
2 sending him to the pits
where he would remain for
the next 3 laps. Laperle
returned to the field
following the second caution
of the day on Lap 32 when
the 97NH of Joey Polewarczyk
spun in turn four as the
result of a right front
flat. DJ Shaw would hit pit
road with his number 60
machine and not return to
the field until after the
Lap 36 caution, showing him
4 laps down to the leader.
The Lap 36 caution was the
result of pole sitter Donald
Theetge coming off turn 4
and slapping the wall. After
leading the first 29 laps,
Theetge would take his car
behind the wall with heavy
right front damage,
relegating him to a 19th
place finish.

Loudon, New

of Rowley, Massachusetts
added another page to his
impressive New Hampshire
Motor Speedway resume,
scoring an impressive
victory in the AIM 60 Pro
All Stars Series race, the
first-ever Pro All Stars

at the "Magic Mile."
It was the seventh victory
on the 1.058-mile oval for
MacDonald, a three-time
winner in NASCAR K&N East
Series competition at NHMS,
to go along with three race
victories in ACT
Invitational Late Model
competition.
MacDonald was tested in the
early stages of the race by
fellow front row starter,
and reigning PASS North
Super Late Model champion,
DJ Shaw of Center Conway,
New Hampshire before
Stonington, Connecticut
competitor David Garbo, Jr.
entered the picture.
Garbo, relegated to 25th
starting position after
running afoul of PASS
technical inspectors
following his heat race,
methodically worked his way
through the field, needing
only 18 laps to take second
position away from Shaw.

#91 of Laperele would start
the 150-lap event from the
pole and other than a
handful of laps would
dominate the event.

contact entering turn 3. On
the restart, Laperle would
maintain his lead followed
by PASS regulars, #17 of

PASS NORTH SLM VICTORY
THIS SEASON FOR HALL OF

Hermon, Maine --
Mike Rowe of Turner padded
his lead in the AIM
Recycling PASS North Super
Late Model championship
chase, posting an impressive
victory in the Hight
Chevrolet 150 at Speedway 95
in Hermon, Maine on Sunday
afternoon. It was the third
victory of the season for
the Petit Motorsports team,
winless on the PASS circuit
for nine years before Rowe
climbed into their
equipment.
Reigning
champion DJ Shaw of Center
Conway, New Hampshire and
Turner's Glen Luce swapped
the lead in the event's
early stages while eventual
winner Rowe, who started
11th, worked his way into
the top five by the 34th
lap. Working traffic like
the Hall of Famer that he
is, Rowe blasted into the
race lead less than five
laps later.
Both Shaw
and Farmington's Cassius
Clark, driving the Hight 77,
mounted brief challenges to
Rowe on late restarts, but
the 64-year-old master
prevailed for the third time
in six starts on the PASS

Father Outduels
Son in Battle of the
Rowes at Star |
-By Brandon Paul,
Speed51.com Editor -
Twitter: @Brandon_Paul51
64-year-old
Maine racing legend Mike
Rowe has been involved in
his fair share of battles
throughout his year's
winning Super Late Model
races in the Northeast. On
Saturday night at Star
Speedway, Rowe was involved
in one of the most
exhausting battles of his
career as he battled it out
for the lead against his
son, Ben Rowe, on the
quarter-mile Epping, New
Hampshire bullring.
The battle was one that had
fans on their feet. It was
one that involved multiple
taps to the back of his No.
7 Petit Motorsports machine.
But in the end, it was a
thrilling battle that the
elder Rowe came out on top
of as he fended off his son
to win his second Pro All
Stars Series (PASS) North
event of the 2015 season.
"My spotter was telling
me where he was and Ben has
a little more smoke than I
do, he's got a little more
motor than I do," Rowe told
Speed51.com powered by JEGS.
"He got into me a couple
times and I knew he wouldn't
spin me being my kid. I am
really happy for him. He had
been struggling for a while
and I'm just glad he's going
well. It was fun racing with
him whether I finished first
or he did. It was an awesome
race." |

USA-sponsored class |
Scarborough, ME - Bryan
Kruczek of Newmarket, New Hampshire
claimed his first-ever victory in a
Super Late Model car in the Southern
Maine Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram 150
for AIM PASS Super Late Models
Saturday at Beech Ridge Motor
Speedway in Scarborough.
Kruczek led early and late in the
150-lap grind, swapping the top spot
with hometown racer Kelly Moore
through the opening stages of the
race, cruising with the contenders
during a stretch dominated by
Turner's Glen Luce, then outrunning
a late charge by Dave Oliver of
Standish.
Oliver made an
impressive closing run that sliced
Kruczek's once-healthy lead to a
margin of victory of about a car
length. The highlight of Oliver's
charge was a move from fifth to
second in less than a lap, with Mike
Rowe and Johnny Clark in that mix.
Joey Doiron of Berwick rallied late
to score a third-place finish after
starting in 12th position. |

Hall of Famer tops busy racing card |

Turner, Maine raced to his 151st
Oxford Plains Speedway main event
win, earning a trip to victory lane
in his maiden voyage aboard Peter
Petit's lucky number 7 in AIM
Recycling Pro All Stars Series Super
Late Model competition at Oxford
Plains Speedway on Sunday afternoon,
while Joey 'Pole' Polewarczyk
prevailed in the co-headlining ACT
Late Model Tour 150-lapper.
Rowe, a 64-year-old veteran,
multi-time track champion and
all-around legend at the speedway
where he was a track titlist a full
four decades ago, waged a race-long
battle with reigning series champion
DJ Shaw of Conway, New Hampshire for
supremacy in a thrilling 150-lapper

Shaw kept the

opening day test, yet Rowe was able
to slam the door shut and keep it
that way, earning his first trip to
victory lane in his first start with
Petit, clearly a career highlight
for the car owner. |

PASS National Races
Announced |
NAPLES, ME (December
15) - Pro All Stars Series
(PASS) officials announced
today a unique championship
format that will be awarded
to Northeastern and Canadian
Super Late Model competitors
in 2015. PASS Super Late
Model competitors will have
the opportunity to race for
an overall PASS North
championship, which will
encompass all 16 events on
the 2015 schedule, or the
PASS Northeast Super Late
Model championship, which
will only include the 12
events scheduled in New
England.
"Allowing
our racers the option to
compete for the overall PASS
North championship or the
new PASS Northeast Super
Late Model championship is a
big step forward for the
series," said PASS President
Tom Mayberry. "This will
allow racers who don't have
the funds or time to compete
in the Canadian events a
chance to still race for a
championship. Likewise, the
2015 PASS North titlist will
truly be able to call
himself short track racing's
international champion."
In addition to the
Northern Super Late Model
champions, PASS will once
again crown a PASS National
Champion, determined by a
combination of select events
in the North and South, and
the PASS South Super Late
Model Champion, the
Southeast's premier Super
Late Model Championship.
The 2015 PASS National
Championship schedule is
nearly complete and will be
fully released in the coming
weeks. The PASS National
Championship Series will
begin with the Peach Blossom
Special at Anderson Motor
Speedway on Saturday, March
21. Hickory Motor Speedway's

and the 42nd Annual Oxford
250 at Oxford Plains
Speedway on Sunday, August
30, 2015, are three of the

Kruczek Ready
For Run At PASS Northeast
Super Late Model Challenge
in 2015 |
NAPLES, ME (January
12) After two seasons of
competing in a partial Pro
All Stars Series (PASS)
Super Late Model schedule,
Newmarket, NH driver Bryan
Kruczek is ready to make the
next step in his racing
career. Kruczek will compete
full-time in 2015 and hopes
to contend for the new PASS
Northeast Super Late Model
Challenge. Unlike the
overall PASS North Super
Late Model series, the PASS
Northeast Super Late Model
Challenge will allow drivers
to compete for a separate
title in the United States
events only. For Kruczek,
2015 presented the perfect
opportunity to race for his
first PASS title.
I
feel like we are making a
huge step in our program
this year and look forward
to stepping out of the
shadows in 2015, said
Kruczek of his new
opportunity. Despite only
making a limited number of
starts over the last two
seasons, Kruczek still
managed to finish 11th in
PASS North points in both
2013 and 2014. In 16 starts
over the last two years,
Kruczek has one top five
finish and three top 10s
during that span of time.
In 2015, Kruczek will
once again be joined by crew
chief Miles Chapman and will
pilot a brand new machine
out of the Dale Shaw Race
Cars stable. New to the team
this year will be major
sponsorship from Ouellette
Associates Inc.
headquartered in Brunswick,
ME.
While the focus
for Kruczek will be on the
PASS Northeast Super Late
Model Challenge, the team is
currently planning to
compete in the PASS North
event at Canadas Autodrome
Chaudiere on Saturday, May
16. Depending on the results
there, Kruczek could still
possibly make a run at the
overall PASS North Super
Late Model title in 2015.
The 2015 PASS season
will get under way on
Saturday, March 7 when the
PASS South Super Late Models
and PASS Pro Late Models
take to Dillon Motor
Speedway for the 10th Annual
South Carolina Clash. The
PASS North Super Late Model
season is slated to start on
Saturday, April 18 with the

track each race. We are
running 10 of their races,
leaving out the ones in
Canada and the one in New
York because those are the
furthest away for us."
What tracks will Nick be
competing at, then?
"We're going to run the
three races at Beech Ridge
and the three at Oxford
(both in Maine)," he said.
"The series runs once each
at Star Speedway and Lee
Speedway (New Hampshire),
Thunder Road (Vermont) and
Speedway 95 (Maine) so we're
planning to race those as
well. The goal for me in all
of those races is just to
qualify. Then, if we
qualify, to finish. For our
first year, if we can do
that, we're going to be
fine. Anything more is a
bonus!"
Nick will be
back at Seekonk for all
three of the Pro Stock
triple crown events as well.
"We feel like we can
contend for wins in those
three races," the driver
confirmed. "But again, the
competition is strong and
we're going to have to bring
our best. I will also be
running the three Triple
Crown Legends races, I
think, so it will be fun to
keep a little bit of a hand
in that series since we will
still be supplying the parts
there through Nick's Pit
Stop."

Airborne
& Chaudiere Will Host
ACT/PASS Doubleheaders in
2015 |
Waterbury, VT
Another agreement between
the Pro All Star Series
(PASS) and the American
Canadian Tour (ACT) adds
more welcome news for Late
Model race fans and teams in
the Northeast. Two more
doubleheader type events
will be held following the
announcement a week ago that
the Oxford Plains Speedway
would open the 2015 season
with the first-ever PASS/ACT
combination event on
Saturday April 18, 2015.
The ACT International held
at Airborne Park Speedway in
Plattsburgh, NY on July 18
and
19, 2015 will play
host to the two most popular
traveling series in the US
and Quebec. The races
will be comprised of two
200-lap features for both
PASS and ACT teams.
Qualifying will take place
Saturday evening and feature
races will be run on
Sunday.
Jamie Atkins,
owner of Airborne Park
Speedway said, We are very
excited about hosting this
event. The ACT races we have
at Airborne are some of the
most competitive on any
track that ACT competes at.
I am sure the PASS Super
Late Model cars will enjoy
their experience on our half
mile just as much. This
should be a great summer
weekend of racing for teams
from throughout New England,
New York and certainly
Quebec.
A
final September combination
event for the ACT Late
Models and PASS Super Late
Models has been set with the
popular Autodrome Chaudiere,
located east of Quebec City
in Valle Jonction, QC. The
fast quarter mile has hosted
ACT events from its opening
in 2006, and over the past
three years the Super Late
Models have been part of the
Chaudiere season of racing.
This is very good news for
Quebec race fans and teams.
Having this combination
event at Chaudiere join both
Oxford Plains and Airborne
is spectacular! We are
pleased to have this on the
ACT Quebec schedule for
2015, said ACT Quebec
Manager, Sylvain
Brouillette.
In a
related piece of news, the
American Canadian Tour has
also scheduled a standalone
event for Saturday, June 27,
2015 at the Oxford Plains
Speedway in Maine.
All schedules (ACT
US & Quebec and PASS North)
are expected to be completed
and released within the next
week or two.

PASS Coming to Thunder Road in
2015 |
Waterbury, VT Thunder Road
International Speedbowl officials
announced that the Pro All Star
Series (PASS), based in Naples,
Maine, will make their first ever
appearance at Thunder Road in Barre,
VT during the 53rd Mekkelsen RV
Memorial Day Classic on Sunday, May
24, 2015.
The Super Late
Models of PASS will join Thunder
Roads ACT Late Models in the
Memorial Day twin bill. The PASS
Super Late Models will race 150
laps, and the Thunder Road Late
Models will race for the Mekkelsen
Memorial Day Classic 100 honors.
This is exciting news for our
Thunder Road fans. Having the return
to Thunder Roads high banks with
Mike and Ben Rowe, joined by Cassius
and Johnny Clark, DJ Shaw, and Glen
Luce should be a lot of fun to
watch. There is also a possibility
to see ACT Champions like Joey
Polewarczyk, Jr., Brian Hoar, and
Wayne Helliwell, Jr. bringing their
PASS cars to Thunder Road for this
event, said Thunder Road promoter
Tom Curley.
Thunder Road has
run the Memorial Day Classic event
with just about every kind of stock
car available. From the early days
of the flathead coupes and high
horsepower modifieds, to the Flying
Tigers in the 1960s, then the
NASCAR-type Late Models of the 70s,
and into the 80s with ACT Pro
Stocks, variety has dictated Thunder
Roads Memorial Day Classics. Since
1996, the ACT Late Models have
carried on the Thunder Road
tradition of opening the summer
season with the Memorial Day Classic
100. The twin bill featuring the
PASS Super Late Models in a 150-lap
event is sure to add another
dimension to the race program in
2015.
I know there is going
to be a lot of support and
excitement for this show at Thunder
Road from both our fans and
competitors, said President of
PASS, Tom Mayberry. I know that
numerous times over the past 10
years I have had racers and fans ask
me what the chances were that we
could race at Thunder Road. It
should be a great show, and we are
all looking forward to our first
time at the tough mile high
banks.
The American Canadian
Tour (ACT) and Pro All Star Series
(PASS) are working together to bring
both traveling groups to new events
during the 2015 race season. An
earlier announcement that the
first-ever combination event between
the two premiere touring series in
the Northeast, PASS and ACT, would
take place as the opening event of
the Oxford Plains Speedway season in
Oxford, Maine on Saturday, April 18,
2015. That announcement alone has
created a positive outlook for the
coming race season. The addition of
a second event with PASS at Thunder
Road in Barre, VT should add to the
anticipation and excitement for the
2015 race season in the region.

ACT and PASS Reach
Agreement
for 2015 |
Waterbury, VT Two of
the leading short track
sanctioning bodies in the
United States and Canada,
the American Canadian Tour
(ACT) located in Waterbury,
VT and the Pro All Star
Series (PASS) from Naples,
Maine have reached an
agreement entering the 2015
season.
The
first ever double-header
event to be held between the
two groups will take place
at the opening event for the
2015 PASS season at the
Oxford Plains Speedway
(OPS), Oxford, ME on
Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Both the ACT Late Models and
the PASS Super Late Models
will compete in 150-lap
feature events to open the
race season at the historic
Oxford Plains Speedway. ACT
has a traditional opening
day event at the Lee USA
Speedway with the annual New
Hampshire Governors Cup
race on Sunday, April 12,
2015.
This
agreement between PASS and
ACT is going to be very good
for the New England and
Canadian race fans, and
certainly for full fender
race teams. ACT Late Model
teams spent many years
racing at Oxford, and they
always put on some terrific
shows. This will also allow
a number of the ACT teams,
who also have PASS Super
Late Models, to compete with
the stars of PASS. We see
this as a win-win for teams
and fans, said Tom
Mayberry, President of PASS
and owner of the Oxford
Plains Speedway.
The
agreement between the two
groups will also include a
clearing of the ACT schedule
on the weekend of the
historic Oxford 250 to be
held on August 29-30, 2015.
There will be no ACT race or
rain date scheduled on the
date of the 2015 Oxford 250.
Tom
Curley, President of ACT
said, I see this project
between ACT and PASS as a
work in progress. We expect
that other possibilities can
result from this initial
negotiation, and we are
excited about working with
Tom (Mayberry) going
forward. It certainly should
provide for an exciting new
era of racing in our region
for both the fans and race
teams.
