Laperle Gives Canadian Fans
Something to Cheer About |
VALLEE-JUNCTION,
QUEBEC (June 20) - Across
the Canadian border, NASCAR
star Denny Hamlin was in
attendance with the #11
Denny Hamlin Foundation car
to battle the stars of the
Pro All Stars Series. When
the checkers flew, it was
St. Denis, Quebec native
Patrick Laperle who would
come home victorious. The
#91 of Laperele would start
the 150-lap event from the
pole and other than a
handful of laps would
dominate the event.
The first caution would fly
at lap 30 when the #7 of
Mike Rowe would spin after
contact entering turn 3. On
the restart, Laperle would
maintain his lead followed
by PASS regulars, #17 of
Travis Benjamin, #77 of
Cassius Clark, #60 of DJ
Shaw, and the #7L of Glen
Luce. Another caution would
quickly follow on lap 34 for
the #33QC of Philippe
Poulin. After the restart,
Laperle would continue to
lead the event through Lap
55 when contact in Turn 3
between Luce and the #73 of
Joey Doiron would bring out
the caution and end the
night for both drivers.
Following the restart,
the #54 of Johnny Clark
would join Laperle and
Benjamin to enter the top
three. The fourth caution of
the evening would come at
Lap 71 when the #40QC of
David Michaud who would find
himself off the track in
turn two and in need of the
wrecker, ending his night.
The ensuing green flag would
see the #17 of Benjamin take
the lead away from Laperle
with the #60 of DJ Shaw
following him into second
place. One lap later,
Laperle would move past Shaw
for second and retake the
lead from Benjamin on lap
75.
A quick caution
on Lap 91 would again bunch
up the field. Laperle
continued to lead and
caution would fall again on
Lap 126 for hard contact in
Turn 1 between the 74QC of
Kevin Lacroix and the 14ON
of Sean Kennedy, ending the
evening for Lacroix. After
the restart, Hamlin would
move into the top five for
the first time of the event.
Benjamin mounted his last
bid for the win on the
restart with the final
caution of the event falling
just three laps later on Lap
129 for the #2QC of Jacques
Poulin.
After the
final restart, Laperle would
retake the lead and not look
back. Laperle would be
followed to the stripe by
Cassius Clark, Travis
Benjamin, D Shaw, and Mike
Rowe. Young Canadian drive
Raphael Lessard would have
his best finish to date with
the PASS Series in 6th and
NASAR star Hamlin would
finish the night in 7th.

NASCAR Driver
Denny Hamlin to Appear
at Autodrome Chaudiere on
June 20th for PASS North
SLM 150
|
During a press
conference held at La Cache
à Maxime on Friday May 22nd,
the promoters of Autodrome
Chaudière, André Poulin and
Yves Pelchat announced the
name of the NASCAR star who
will be present with PASS
for the June 20th program.
Always working to make
Autodrome Chaudiere a
diversified motorsports
complex, developers have
introduced novelties such as
Beauces Lapping Days Night
and Drifts.
But it
has also been imperative for
them to continue to grow and
expand on the stock car
programs initiated by Mr.
Dany Lagacé and Kevin
Roberge over the past two
years that has led Autodrome
Chaudière to international
fame.
One of the
events that contributed
greatly to this status for
the last two years has been
the appearance of a star
from the NASCAR Sprint Cup
Series who has joined
drivers from the AIM
Recycling PASS North Super
Late Model Series for one
race each year.This event,
which has become a must see,
is undoubtedly one of the
most anticipated events of
the
With the early
season injury to Kyle Busch,
who has appeared for the
last two years, the fan
expectation was at a high to
see who would fill that role
in 2015. Mr. Pelchat and Mr.
Poulin wanted to chose a
driver who was recognized
both for his successes and
accessibility to the fans.
Without the invaluable work
of Kevin Roberge, who was
tirelessly involved in this
project, the appearance of
Denny Hamlin wouldn't have
been possible.
Hamlin
who will join the PASS
series on June 20th has a
strong resume:
- 2006
Sprint Cup Raybestos Rookie
of the Year - 24
victories in the NASCAR
Sprint Cup Series - 11
victories in the NASCAR
Xfinity Series - In 2012
he finished in 6th position
in the NASCAR Sprint Cup
Championship - In 2014 he
finished 3rd in points for
the NASCAR Sprint Cup
Championship
It is
with great pride and
excitement that Autodrome
Chaudière welcomes the
NASCAR driver of the FedEx
sponsored car #11 Denny
Hamlin.
Tickets will
be on pre-sale this Friday
May 29th at noon at a cost
of $ 45. For all tickets
purchased in pre-sale, there
will be the chance to win
one of the 50 spots
available to meet and greet
Denny Hamlin and get an
autograph on the track. You
will also be able to choose
your seat at 1:30 PM before
the gates are for general
admission ticket holders.

tickets, contact Autodrome
Chaudiere by phone at
