Church Dominates
for
Mason-Dixon Meltdown Win
in
PASS South Finale |
LUCAMA, NC (November 23) –
Tyler Church led 120 of the
200 laps that made up the
8th Annual Mason Dixon
Meltdown for a dominant win
Saturday afternoon at
Southern National
Motorsports Park in the 2013
season finale for the Pro
All Stars Series (PASS)
South Super Late Models. The
win marked a strong final
third of the season that saw
Church also claim his first
career PASS South Super Late
Model win back in September
at Hickory Motor Speedway.
“I’ve always wanted to
win somewhere other than
Hickory and Tri-County,
we’ve won up there quite a
bit in the Limiteds, but
finally we were able to win
somewhere else,” said Church
in victory lane. “It’s
really not sunk in yet. This
place is really cool and I
can’t believe we were able
to win the Meltdown.” |

Rowe Survives To End
Drought With North-South Shootout
Win at Caraway |
SOHPIA, NC (November 9) –
Ben Rowe weaved his way through a
multi-car accident with four laps to
go while running sixth and led the
remaining laps to win Saturday
afternoon’s Pro All Stars Series
(PASS) South Super Late Model
North-South Shootout at Caraway
Speedway. Rowe’s 8th career PASS
South Super Late Model victory ended
a winless streak dating back to
September, 2012 when he won the PASS
400 at Maine’s Beech Ridge Motor
Speedway.
“It was kind of our
strategy to back off, but the
leaders got out front and we
couldn’t run with them,” said Rowe,
the All-Time winningest driver in
PASS Super Late Model competition.
“I knew all hell was going to break
loose with 10 or 15 laps to go and
we just wanted to be in the right
position. I’d rather be lucky than
good any day and lo and behold we
got through the wreck and were
leading with just a few laps to go.” |

but his first at Orange
County Speedway, the track
he began his racing career
at over 30 years ago.
“The pace was all over
the place tonight, it was
real hard to back up and
ride because everybody was
going so hard around us,”
said Fogleman in victory
lane. “Just glad to get a
win here for all the people
that have supported us over
the years at this place.
It’s really nice to finally
win one here, we’ve lost a
couple.” |

Hemric Mounts Late
Charge To Win PASS South Wildcat
150 At Dillon |
DILLON, SC (October 5) – It
was déjà vu for the #98 Carswell
Motorsports team as Daniel Hemric
made a late race charge Saturday
night to win the Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) South Super Late Model
Wildcat 150 at Dillon Motor
Speedway. The win was Hemric’s
second PASS South win of 2013 and
came at the site of the Carswell
team’s first series victory in 2008
with the now retired Justin
Wakefield.
“Considering that
this is where Jake and Deanna
[Carswell] started their Super Late
Model career, this is pretty cool,
especially doing it here at
Dillon…it’s really neat for
everybody,” Hemric said afterwards
in victory lane.

Kenseth Completes PASS South
Season Sweep At SoBo on 8-31 |
SOUTH BOSTON, VA (August 31) – Ross
Kenseth led the most laps, but had
to fend off a furious late race
challenge from rookie Jared Irvan to
win the Pro All Stars Series (PASS)
South Super Late Model SoBo 100
Saturday night at South Boston
Speedway. With his win, Kenseth
completed a sweep of both PASS South
events held at South Boston Speedway
this year.
“It’s always fun
coming back here, heck of a job by
Jared Irvan, he raced us really
clean and it was fun racing him for
the win,” said Kenseth after his 4th
career PASS South Super Late Model
win. “I felt like we were really
good, but if we got pinched down to
the bottom it would take us about
two or three laps to get going. Real
proud of the guys, we brought the
same thing back here as last time
and it work really good again.”

The
SCORCHER 150
SATURDAY,

Hemric Scores Emotional
PASS South Win At Southern National |
LUCAMA, NC (August 3) – On a
weekend chalked full of emotion,
Daniel Hemric took his first career
Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South
Super Late Model win in the Scorcher
150 Saturday night at Southern
National Motorsports Park. Fans and
racers alike were still reeling from
the sudden death of longtime PASS
South crew member Mike Sabiston,
known to many as “The Judge,” who
passed away at the track Friday in
an accident while unloading the #62
New Day Motorsports Ford driven by
Brandon Ward. The evening started
with a remembrance of Sabiston which
included a moment of silence and the
local Bandolero division drivers
laying a flower at a wreath in his
honor. Due to the circumstances
surrounding the weekend, the win by
Hemric was bittersweet.
“I
know everybody here has a heavy
heart thinking about “The Judge” and
our thoughts and prayers go out to
him and his family, so this one’s
for you buddy,” said Hemric
afterwards in victory lane.

race was postponed Saturday night
due to rain showers.
“I’m
struggling a little bit, it
definitely was hot out there,” said
Theriault afterwards. “I just rode
around a little while thinking a lot
of guys would burn it up. We didn’t
have a lot left at the end, but we
had enough. I definitely want to
thank the fans who came and stuck it
out with us through all the

ASHEBORO, NC (May 24) – Kyle
Grissom took the lead from Brandon
Ward on a lap 84 restart and held
off points leader Jay Fogleman to
win the “Krazy” Kevin Powell 150 for
the Pro All Stars Series (PASS)
South Super Late Models Friday night
at Caraway Speedway. Grissom’s
seventh career PASS South Super Late
Model win moves him to within four
points of Fogleman headed to the
next series event in two weeks at
South Boston Speedway.
“I
wasn’t crazy about taking the lead
that early, but I was getting good
restarts and took advantage of it,”
said Grissom, after becoming the
first two-time winner this season in
PASS South. “Once the 2 car
(Fogleman) got up there, that was
pretty tough, that was nerve
wracking having Jay Fogleman back
there those last 60 laps.”

Kenseth Outlasts Rain
and Competition for Wild PASS South
Win At South Boston |
SOUTH BOSTON, VA (May 11) –
Ross Kenseth took the lead from Trey
Mitchell on what proved to be the
final restart of the night and was
up front when it counted to win the
Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South
Super Late Model event at Virginia’s
South Boston Speedway. In a race
plagued by a constant threat of
rain, Kenseth’s third career PASS
South Super Late Model victory came
when the event was finally halted
eight laps short of the finish due
to a brief shower. Kenseth becomes
the ninth different winner in nine
PASS South events held at South
Boston dating back to 2006.
“The track was damp and we both spun
our tires real bad coming to the
green flag,” said Kenseth of the
final restart to take the lead from
Mitchell. “Kyle [Grissom] got a heck
of a jump and drove hard into turn
one, we hit a little bit, but with
15 or 20 to go, that’s racing. This
is a real fun series to run and they
called it at the right time.”

KENLY, NC (April 13) -
Preston Peltier looked to be on the
way to his second straight Pro All
Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late
Model win, but slipped in oil from
rookie Brandon Lynn's car coming to
the white flag handing Jay Fogleman
the win in the Dogwood Blossom 150
Saturday night at Southern National
Raceway Park. Fogleman's 8th career
win moves him out of a tie with Ben
Rowe into sole possession of second
place on the PASS South All Time
Wins list.
"My spotter told
me that there might be oiI going
into turn three and when we got
there Preston (Peltier) was about a
lane higher than I was and got in it
and we were able to get by and make
it back to the checkered flag
first,"said Fogleman. "I can't
thank Dicky Woodman and these guys
enough for the car they gave me
tonight. I'm gonna try to run as
many races as I can driving other
people's cars because all the focus
in my shop is on Tate (Fogleman's
son). He's got a lot brighter future
than I do."

"Bash At The Beach" Win |
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (March 16)

Grissom charged from 12th after a
lap 100 competition caution to the
lead in just nine laps and held on
to win the the Pro All Stars Series
(PASS) South Super Late Model Bash
At The Beach 150 at Myrtle Beach
Speedway. The win was Grissom's
sixth in his PASS South Super Late
Model career.
"That first
half we tried to save our tires as
best we could and the left rear just
wore out really bad. We made an
adjustment at the break and as soon
as we got back going, I knew that
saving the tires wasn't going to do
anything for us," said Grissom. "All
I was trying to do was get to the
lead and fall back from there to
conserve. To finally win a race here
at Myrtle Beach in a Super Late
Model with PASS and beat all of
those guys - it's a really good
night."

For History Making Win In PASS South
Opener at Dillon Motor Speedway |
DILLON, SC (March 9) -
Austin Theriault led less than a
hundred feet to edge out former Pro
All Stars Series (PASS) National
Champion Preston Peltier in a photo
finish to win the 8th Annual South
Carolina Clash 150 at Dillon Motor
Speedway. Theriault's .120 second
margin of victory in the PASS South
season opener was the closest margin
in series history. Theriault and
Peltier made contact coming out of
turn four racing to the checkered
flag as they both maneuvered to pass
the lapped machine of John Hunter
Nemechek with Theriault just having
enough to eke out the victory.
"I didn't think I had anything
for him [Peltier], but that lapped
car gave me an opportunity there and
I took it," said Theriault, making
only his second career PASS South
Super Late Model start. "I hate that
it came down to that, but I felt
like I had the inside there down on
the apron. I went there and hoped
that it stuck and luckily we had the
lapped car there. It hasn't quite
hit me yet, but we're on a roll and
I think we're gonna have a great
season."
