Lap Leader Programs Open for the
Oxford 250 & All That’s Metal 300
2024 OXFORD 250 LAP BOARD
 2024 COA 300 LAP BOARD
Oxford, ME and Naples, ME -- Officials at Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) and the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) announced today that the popular lap leader programs are officially open for their two marquis events in 2024, the Oxford 250 and the All That's Metal Celebration of America 300. The Oxford 250 will have the traditional $100 laps while the 300 will feature $50 lap sponsorships up for grabs. Those wishing to participate will be given the option of the same laps in both races when available.

The lap leader program was introduced in the 1981 Oxford 250 as a way to add a unique twist to the strategy of a long distance race. The initial program paid $50 per lap to the leader, before growing to $100 per lap in 1984 and where it has stayed since that time. This year's early January opening marks earliest launch ever for the lap leader program.

"With two big events at Oxford this year we wanted to get a jump start on filling up these laps," Said PASS President Tom Mayberry. "These programs are a good way to add in some strategy to a long distance race and in some cases there are some low budget teams that earn a great payday by leading a bunch of laps, which really helps them."
Every single lap of the past two Oxford 250s were sold for the 49th and 50th annual edition of the late summer classic, and officials with OPS and PASS hope to accomplish the feat again for both of these races in 2024.

Laps sponsors are made available to businesses for advertising purposes, so those sponsoring 3 lap blocks or more are able to include a logo and number or link on the leaderboards. Oxford 250 laps at $100 will go directly to the leader of that lap while the $50 laps for the 300 will see $25 to the leader $25 to help support the purse.

Laps are also offered to individuals who wish to send a message of support to their favorite driver, celebrate a birthday, or even in memory of a loved one. All lap sponsors are displayed on the OPS and PASS websites and in person at the speedway with a billboard in the main concourse.

To sponsor a lap or many, contact Mary between 9am and 7pm at 207-693-6497 or Kevin at 207-577-1836.

To take advantage of marketing opportunities at the Pro All Stars Series or Oxford Plains Speedway please call 207-577-1836 or inquire at OPSmarketing50@gmail.com.

The Pro All Stars Series
and Racing America
Reach Multi-Year Agreement
CONCORD, N.C. (January 9, 2024) - The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and Racing America have reached a multi-year agreement to continue their broadcasting partnership for the sanctioning body. With the agreement, Racing America remains the broadcasting home of the Pro All Stars Series for the coming years.

Among those events are a packed slate of Super Late Model races at Oxford Plains Speedway. This year's calendar includes the $40,000-to-win 300-lap Celebration of America on July 2-3, the PASS 400 weekend on October 19 and the biggest event of the year, the Oxford 250 on August 23-25.

"The streaming partnership between PASS and Racing America has been and will continue to be strong for years to come," said PASS President, Tom Mayberry. "The Oxford 250 continues as the richest single-day event in motorsports and folks all over the country will be able to watch on Racing America. Add the Celebration Of America in July paying $40,000 to win and PASS fans have a lot to be excited about."

"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Pro All Stars Series in 2024 and beyond," said Colin Smith, President of Racing America. "PASS has become a favorite among our fanbase and we are excited to get their season underway."

The Oxford 250 is one of the biggest Super Late Model events of the year and celebrated its 50th annual running in 2023. Cole Butcher celebrated his second win in the event one year ago. Racing America has been the broadcasting home of the Oxford 250 since 2015, presenting what has always been considered one of the biggest short track events in the Northeastern United States to a national and international audience.

For the first time ever, Racing America's coverage of the Icebreaker Weekend and Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park will be available to RacingAmerica.TV subscribers in 2014. Due to broadcast rights restrictions, the NASCAR Whelen
Modified Tour events on those weekends will not be shown on Racing America.

Update on "Bottle Cap Crate"
2024 SLM Engine Options
Dec, 27 - Naples, ME - Officials at the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) provided an update today on the new "Bottle Cap Crate" engine option that will be available for all PASS competitors for the 2024 season. The "Bottle Cap Crate" option was rolled out to competitors in early November and sales have been brisk.

PASS President Tom Mayberry commented about the new engine package option, "We are really. really happy with the initial round of orders for these motors. We have already had 15 or 16 teams order an engine, and we are getting calls and emails almost every day for more."

Each engine purchased through the PASS sealed engine program comes straight from GM to the PASS approved engine builder, LCM Racing Engines, for a dyno break-in and test. LCM sets the timing, performs a 4-hour break-in procedure, and then seals each motor with TWO PASS-specific seals registered with the sanctioning body. Teams simply provide their own fuel pump and distributor and then can pick up a race ready engine to drop into their cars and go.

"We felt like it was important to provide a good break-in procedure to verify that each engine is performing at its optimum level when it leaves the LCM Engine Shop," Said Mayberry. "LCM has agreed to do this at a discounted rate so we can keep the total cost to teams under $10k."

Teams running the "Bottle Cap Crate"  option will be afforded a 25 lb. weight break at every track on the PASS schedule, with additional breaks at Thompson and New Hampshire Motor Speedway TBD.
Mayberry went on to say there will be another order placed with GM within the next month or so to accommodate the ever growing interest for both the PASS tour and weekly competition at Oxford Plains Speedway.

The 602 "Bottle Cap"  crate motor option for PASS MODS was also rolled out less than a month ago and interest has been high there as well. "We had one driver order one right away, and we have had several more calls from drivers in need of a fresh motor who want to order very soon," said Mayberry. "PASS MODS race a little less than the SLM's so an engine may last a team a little longer. But as they wear out, it's a great way for them to get a sealed motor and get a weight break. It's the same engine they are already running, just with a seal so we know it has not been tampered with."

To place your order, please contact the Offices of PASS at (207) 693-6497 or passracing@roadrunner.com before February 1st, or contact Tom and Mike Mayberry to get your name on this list, For technical questions please call Louie Mechalides at 978-265-2630

Kuhn Tops Doiron for PASS 150 Win at Star
After On-Track Spat Between Griffith, Shaw
By Toby Christie - Racing America News
Ryan Kuhn was the dominant car of the first half of Saturday's PASS Super Late Model Series event at Star Speedway, and he ended up scoring the win, but he'll be the first to admit that it looked like he was going to come up a little bit short as the race crossed the half-way point.

"That was unbelievable. Kind of speechless, man," Kuhn stated in his victory interview. "[with] 25 [laps] to go, I thought we were done and out of it. I just wanted to ride back and manage my stuff for a late-race restart and we got that."

In racing, you never give up, because you just never know what can happen. Saturday's race at the 0.250-mile short track in Epping, New Hampshire, was a prime example of that fact.

Series points leader DJ Shaw and the hard-charging Derek Griffith muscled past Kuhn during a restart around the mid-way point of the race. And from there, it was the Shaw and Griffith show.

The battle between the two racers was entertaining as all get out, and everything you'd expect from two of Super Late Model racing's best, that is until both drivers went over the line during their duel, and ruined each other's hopes of winning the race.

Griffith shoved his way to the lead with 17 laps to go, but Shaw wasn't a fan of the move, and gave a shot of his own right back to Griffith heading into the next set of turns. The contact from Shaw sent Griffith spinning from the lead, and the caution flag would come back out.

Shaw was now the leader of the race, but under the yellow, race control would penalize Shaw with an end of line penalty for the contact, which caused Griffth to spin out.

This handed the lead to Joey Doiron, and Kuhn, who all of a sudden had new life, was alongside on the front row. Kuhn would snag the lead away with 16 laps to go, and he would hold off Doiron's final charge on a restart with 12 laps remaining to take the victory.

"Oh man, that was one heck of a battle with Joey there. You know, he's one of the best around," Kuhn gushed about his competitor for the race win.

For the 24-year-old native of East Bridgewater, MA, the win was the culmination of perserverance through some tough times recently on the race track. The 2022 PASS North Super Late Model champion concluded his victory interview by thanking his team for sticking by him through thick and thin.

"I want to thank my whole crew for sticking with me," Kuhn stated. "These last few weeks, really few months, have been really rough. We really needed this one."

The official margin of victory for Kuhn was 0.550 seconds over Doiron, the 32-year-old racer from Berwick, ME.

While Doiron, the 2015 PASS Super Late Model Series National Champion, failed to take the win on Saturday, he did pick up his second best finish of the 2024 season through the season's opening five events.

Gabe Brown, who was disappointed by a fourth-place finish after a rough and tumble battle with Jimmy Renfrew Jr. in the ACT Tour event earlier in the afternoon, came home third in the race, and Shaw rallied from the rear of the field to finish fourth.

Bryan Kruczek scored a top-five in the No. 5K machine, and Griffith's rally back through the 15-car field stalled out with a sixth-place finish.

While the ACT Tour, PASS MODS, and PASS Super Late Model events were successful in dodging the threatening weather in the area throughout the afternoon, the skies finally opened up just as Kuhn concluded his victory interview.

Veteran Nascar Broadcaster Dave Moody
to be the PA announcer for the COA 300

Naples ME, Oxford ME  -  June 14th - Officials at the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) announced today that veteran NASCAR announcer Dave Moody will be the special guest announcer for the 1st annual All That's Metal Celebration of America 300. The $40,000 to win event, slated for Tuesday July 2nd and Wednesday July 3rd, continues to build excitement as Moody becomes the forth big name to commit to the 1st annual event joining Kyle Busch, Daniel Hemric, and Bubba Pollard.

"This feels like going home again. I have some very fond memories of my years on the PA Microphone at Oxford Plains Speedway, and while it has been a number of years, I still have a lot of friends on the Pro All Stars Series," commented Moody about the upcoming event.
Dave Moody cut his teeth in under legendary broadcaster Ken Squire at Thunder Road Speedbowl and eventually on the ACT tour in the Northeast before moving south to establish a career in broadcasting. As a part of his duties, Moody spent two seasons at Oxford Plains Speedway as the weekly PA announcer.

"I'm really looking forward to July 3," said Moody. "The Last race I announced there was in 1995."

Present day finds Moody, also affectionately known as "The Godfather", hosting his nationally syndicated three hour talk show called SiriusXM Speedway on Sirius XM NASCAR channel 90. Since 1987 he has brought his excitable play by play commentary to listeners all across the world as corner broadcaster for the Motor Racing Network on nearly all their NASCAR race broadcasts.

"I couldn't be happier to have an announcer the caliber of Dave Moody be a part of this event," said PASS president Tom Mayberry. "We think his brand of enthusiasm will add to the excitement for the fans in attendance and those watching at home. We are absolutely thrilled!"

The 1st annual All that's Metal Celebration of America 300 is shaping up to be one of the biggest short track racing events in the United States. With $40,000 to the winner, nearly 50 drivers have entered for the chance of a big payday and the opportunity to compete against stars like Kyle Busch and Daniel Hemric. Adding another star like Dave Moody to the event makes this an event not to miss.

Tickets for the All That's Metal Celebration of America 300 are on sale now and can be ordered by calling 207-539-8865. Tickets are also available at the front ticket booth at all Oxford Plains Speedway events. Advance ticket sales are priced at $40 for Wednesday's feature action.

Also, in action over the two days will be the New England Super Modified Series racing for 100 laps and $10,000 to win along with other support divisions to be announced. A full event schedule of events, camping information, and more can be viewed at www.oxfordplains.com and www.proallstarsseries.com.

The All That's Metal Celebration of America 300 (allthatsmetal.com)
will also feature a lap leader contingency. COA 300 LAP BOARD HERE. All 300 laps will be available for purchase at only $50 per lap meaning the July 3rd winner of the All That's Metal Celebration of America 300 could take home nearly $50,000!

BUBBA POLLARD #26 TARGETS
THE CELEBRATION OF AMERICA 300
Naples ME - April 25th  -  Officials at the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) have now received more than 40 entries for the 1st Annual All That's Metal 300 at office headquarters. Number nine on the entry list goes to the ever popular Senoia, Georgia driver Andrew "Bubba" Pollard who is no stranger to Oxford Plains Speedway and will now visit the speedway twice in 2024.

Pollard first tested the waters of the famed Rte 26 3/8 mile oval back in 2018, and came away a winner of the prestigious 45th annual Oxford 250. The driver of car 26 has returned each year since attempting to score the big win again. With a second marquee event on the schedule, this gives the traveling racer another shot at mastering the tricky oval once again.

The 37-year-old grassroots driver is owner of well over 100 wins and 13 championships all across the country, and has set his sights on pocketing the $40,000 winners pay day on July 3rd. Pollard, known for his extensive travel schedule and penchant for winning the big races, is a threat to win anytime the number 26 rolls onto the track.

"Anytime you can get a driver the caliber of Bubba Pollard at your race you know you're in for a treat," said PASS President Tom Mayberry. "He is a fan favorite and has always been a factor every time he comes and races with us. I am sure he would love to be the inaugural winner of the 300."

Pollard, who has amassed a resume of big wins that would rival anyone, certainly relishes the chance to test his metal against some of the best in the business. The obvious Kyle Busch and Daniel Hemric will surely be on his radar, but so will accomplished drivers like Johnny Clark, Derek Griffith, and the legendary King of Oxford, Mike Rowe. The fickle asphalt has a way of taming even the hottest drivers.

The All That's Metal Celebration of America 300 (www.allthatsmetal.com) will also feature a lap leader contingency. COA 300 LAP BOARD HERE. All 300 laps will be available for purchase at only $50 per lap meaning the July 3rd winner of the All That's Metal Celebration of America 300 could take home nearly $50,000!

CUP DRIVER DANIEL HEMRIC JOINS
KYLE BUSCH IN POSTING AN ENTRY FOR
THE CELEBRATION OF AMERICA 300
Naples ME - April 23th  -  Officials at the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) announced today they have received an official entry from NASCAR Cup Series Driver Daniel Hemric for the All That's Metal Celebration of America 300 scheduled for July 2nd and 3rd. Hemric, becomes the 2nd NASCAR Cup Series driver to enter the 1st annual event, joining Richard Childress racing driver Kyle Busch.

The 33-year-old 2021 Xfinity series champion is the current driver for the number 31 Cup series car fielded by Kaulig racing. Hemric will be driving the car normally driven by Derek Kneeland and owned by Mike Bryant of Windham as they chase the $40,000 winner's purse.

"We are very happy to welcome Daniel back to Oxford Plains Speedway," said PASS president Tom Mayberry. "Last time he was here around 10 years ago he showed a lot of speed. He will be a great addition to the race."

Hemric is a 6-time winner on the PASS South Tour and competed in the 2014 Oxford 250 where he finished 24th.The following season he advanced into the NASCAR Truck Series.

"Daniel expressed an interest in coming to the 300 in July when he heard about the race," said Busch spotter Derek Kneeland. "So, I made a call to my car owner and pretty quickly a deal was done to bring him to the race."

The Kannapolis native becomes the 42nd entry into what is shaping up to be another big marquee event for Oxford Plains Speedway. Hemric is also the third "Southern" driver to enter the fold joining 2017 Oxford 250 winner Bubba Pollard and the aforementioned Kyle Busch.

Tickets for the All That's Metal Celebration of America 300 will be available the day of the race and will be general admission and priced at $25 for adults for Tuesday's preliminary qualifying rounds, and $40 for Wednesday's feature action.

NASCAR CHAMPION KYLE BUSCH ENTERS
THE CELEBRATION OF AMERICA 300
Naples ME - April 20th  -  Officials at the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) announced today they have received an official entry from two-time NASCAR Cup Champion Kyle Busch for the All That's Metal Celebration of America 300 scheduled for July 2nd and 3. The super-star driver, often referred to as "Rowdy", becomes entry number 41 on the list as excitement continues to build for the first annual $40,000 to win event.

"A few of us have been talking about doing this race with Kyle for a couple of months now," said former Cup owner Archie St. Hilaire. "Kyle loves competing at Oxford Plains Speedway and we were finally able to get the right combination of people involved to make it happen."

The effort is a collaboration between Busch and Archie St Hilaire of Go Fas Racing, Peter Petit of Petit Motorsports, Busch's Cup spotter Derek Kneeland, and Cushman Competition who will field the car. Primary support will come from Keen Parts, and Weirs Buick GMC through its Fischer Snow Plow brand.

"TJ and Tom Keen really like to support short track racing, and one of the ways they are able to do that is bring in drivers like Kyle to these races to help give them a boost," said St Hilaire. "Between them and all the others involved we were able to make it work for everyone."

Busch is the owner of 231 wins in the top three NASCAR divisions, including 102 in the Xfinity series, 66 in the Truck series, and 63 in the top-level Cup series. While Busch's day job is centered on NASCAR, the 38-year-old Las Vegas native is also well known for entering bigger races at the grassroots level, especially those that carry a little extra prominence like the 1st annual All That's Metal Celebration of America 300. Busch is already a two-time winner at OPS sweeping both the PASS 150 and Oxford 250 back in 2011.

"We are absolutely thrilled that Kyle wants to be a part of our first 300," said PASS president and Oxford Plains Speedway owner Tom Mayberry. "A lot of people in that group worked really hard to put this deal together. It think it's going to be great for the fans and the competitors."

Busch will drive the Cushman Competition car that Austin Teras wheeled to three victories at Oxford Plains Speedway in 2023. The car will be re-numbered to the driver's traditional short track number 51 that "Rowdy" has made popular throughout the last 15 years of barnstorming short track special events.

For his part, Busch is coming to the first annual race with the intention of winning. It is not uncommon to see the NASCAR star climb from behind the wheel of his Super Late Model and begin wrenching on the car himself to make improvements. It's no secret that Busch is a racer who not only loves to race, but loves to win races, and will not skimp on his efforts to be standing in victory lane come July 3rd.
