Stretch Run To Decide PASS
North Championship
Begins At Oxford Plains
Speedway |
NAPLES, ME
(September 11) - Following
the enormous success of the
46th Annual Oxford 250, Pro
All Stars Series (PASS)
North racers should be well
rested as they begin the
stretch run to decide the
championship this weekend at
Oxford Plains Speedway. With
the season starting to wind
down, a big field of PASS
North Super Late Models and
PASS Modifieds are expected
on Sunday afternoon for a
big day of racing planned at
Oxford Plains.
The
battle for the Northeast's
most prestigious Super Late
Model championship has come
down to five drivers, all
within 100 points of one
another. New Hampshire's DJ
Shaw looks to defend his
title from a year ago,
knowing that a bad finish
could prove disastrous with
a big field expected on
Sunday.
Vermont's
Nick Sweet was finally able
to score his elusive first
win in PASS in early August
at Oxford Plains. Now Sweet
sits just 31 markers behind
Shaw. A strong runner-up
finish in the Oxford 250 has
moved defending PASS
National Champion, Derek
Griffith, up to third in
points. While 5-Time PASS
National Champion, Ben Rowe,
and two-time Oxford Plains
winner in 2019, Garrett
Hall, sit fourth and fifth
respectively, as they look
to pounce should any of the
leads encounter trouble this
weekend.
But, they
will not be the only
contenders. This year's
Oxford Plains Speedway track
champion and 2017 Oxford 250
winner, Curtis Gerry, will
be back at his home track
looking to continue his
mastery of the speedway.
And, former PASS North &
South Champion, Mike Rowe,
returns as he seeks his
first PASS North win since
2015.
A strong field
is expected for Sunday
afternoon's action at Oxford
Plains Speedway, including
former Oxford 250 winner,
Scott Robbins., along with
fellow Mainers like Ben
Ashline, Tim & TJ Brackett,
Reid Lanpher, and Alan
Wilison. Former track
champion Gabe Brown is
entered, along with fellow
Granite State racer, Dan
WInter, while Vermont's
Bobby Therrien will make the
tow over from Vermont.
The PASS Modified
division has seen a major
resurgence in 2019, led by
points leader Spencer Morse.
But, Morse's hands could be
full as Jairet Harrison,
Mike Carigan, Kate Re, Matty
Sanborn, Tyler King, and
Justin Larsen have all made
trips to victory lane this
season.
Action gets
under way on Sunday with
practice starting at 10 AM,
heat races at 1:30 PM, and
main events to follow for
the PASS North Super Late
Models, PASS Modifieds,
Street Stocks, and Bandits.
PASS Super Late Model
entry forms for Oxford
Plains Speedway, White
Mountain Motorsports Park
and Thunder Road
International Speedbowl,
along with the PASS National
Championship finale at
Lanier Raceplex in Georgia,

The Pro All Stars Series

America's premier
