PASS South At Orange County
Postponed Due To Severe
Weather
CHARLOTTE, NC (July 19) –
After closely monitoring the
weather for the last 48
hours and with an extremely
poor forecast for Saturday
and Sunday, officials with
the Pro All Stars Series and
Orange County Speedway felt
it best to postpone this
weekend’s “Roads To Oxford &
Richmond” qualifier. With
several teams faced with
long travel from the
Canadian province of
Ontario, and states such as
Florida, Georgia, and
others, and with severe
weather being forecasted for
the Piedmont region of North
Carolina, the decision was
made to postpone today in
the hopes of saving money
for all the teams and fans.
Several dates are currently
being looked at by PASS and
Orange County Speedway
officials to reschedule the
12th Annual Orange Blossom
Special. A final decision
will be announced within a
week. For further updates
please go to
ProAllStarsSeries.com or
monitor our Facebook and
Twitter pages. |

Speedway 51 and South
Boston Doubleheader
Weekend Set For PASS |
NAPLES, ME (August 9) - In
their final chance to tweak
prior to the 45th Annual
Clark's Scrap Metal Oxford
250, the Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) North Super
Late Models will be back on
track this Saturday night at
Speedway 51 in Groveton, New
Hampshire. While their
southern counterparts, the
PASS South Super Late
Models, will have a shot to
get locked into the 250 or
at Richmond Raceway down at
Virginia's South Boston
Speedway.
It will be
the first time New England's
top Super Late Model drivers
have competed at the track,
formerly known as Riverside
Speedway, since Trevor
Sanborn won there in 2010.
This special event Powered
By Autosaver Group will be
151 laps in honor of the
track's current name.
Coming in to this
weekend's action, the battle
for New England's most
prestigious short track
championship continues to be
a hot one. DJ Shaw, the
former two-time PASS North
series champion, is not a
stranger to winning in the
Granite State, but has never
won at Speedway 51. Shaw has
a lead of 28 points over
Travis Benjamin, with fellow
New Hampshire driver, Derek
Griffith, not far behind in
third.
With only two
races left until the 45th
Annual Clark's Scrap Metal
Oxford 250 and the chance to
win up to $50,000, Super
Late Model drivers from
around the country are
running out of chances to
perfect their setup prior to
the biggest race of the
year. The southeast's best
will have their final chance
on Saturday night at South
Boston Speedway in the
Davenport Energy 150. Not
only will it be a chance for
the top five finishers to
get locked into the 250, but
they will have the option to
use that guaranteed starting
spot in the inaugural
Commonwealth Classic at
nearby Richmond Raceway in
October.
Currently,
two-time defending PASS
South champion, Matt Craig,
leads the standings over
Kodie Conner and Canadian,
JP Josiasse. While each of
them are entered for South
Boston, they will be joined
by several strong contenders
including former series
champions, Tyler Church and
Tate Fogleman, who will by
flying to South Boston
following his Truck Series
start at Michigan
International Speedway on
Saturday afternoon. Veterans
Brandon Setzer, Jeff Batten,
and Brandon Lynn, will be
joined by rookie drivers
Gracie Trotter and Sterling
Cling.
All the action
gets under way on Friday at
South Boston Speedway
Speedway with practice
starting at 10 AM. Racing
gets under way at 7 PM on
Saturday night featuring the
PASS South Super Late Models
and Twin 75s for the NASCAR
Late Model Stocks.
Everything begins on
Saturday at Speedway 51 with
practice starting at 2 PM,
followed by heat races, and
features for the PASS North
Super Late Models, PASS
Modifieds, Street Stocks,
Sportsman, and Dare Devils.

South Boston Extra
Important with PASS
Spots for Oxford &
Richmond Available |
CHARLOTTE, NC
(August 7) - After competing
at Virginia's South Boston
Speedway for over a decade,
Pro All Stars Series (PASS)
South Super Late Model teams
have added importance for
this Saturday night's
Davenport Energy 150 at the
famed 4/10-mile speedway. As
part of the "Roads To Oxford
& Richmond" program, the top
five finishers in this
weekend's race will get
guaranteed starting spots
for two of the biggest short
track races of the season.
These select drivers will
have the option to be locked
into either the 45th Annual
Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains
Speedway later this month or
the inaugural PASS
Commonwealth Classic at
Richmond Raceway in October.
The Oxford 250 has a
reputation for being the
hardest asphalt race in
North America to qualify
for, with nearly 70 PASS
Super Late Models expected
to try and make the field
and compete for up to
$50,000 to win. While the
inaugural Commonwealth
Classic at the 3/4-mile
Richmond Raceway in October
will see the PASS Super Late
Models compete for $10,000
to win at one of the premier
short tracks in the country,
along with Tour-Type
Modifieds, the Solid Rock
Carriers Late Model Stocks,
Limited Late Models, and
Street Stocks. Both Oxford
and Richmond are expected to
be two of the biggest draws
in asphalt short track
racing this year.
Defending South Boston
winner and two-time PASS
South champion, Matt Craig,
holds a slim 24 point
advantage over fellow
teenager, Kodie Conner.
Consistency has been the key
for Canadian veteran, JP
Josiasse, who sits third in
points and plans to once
again make the 20-plus hour
trip to South Boston from
Ontario. Defending
rookie-of-the-year, Roy
Hayes sits fourth in points,
ahead of veterans Jody
Measamer and Tate Fogleman.
While 2018 rookie contender,
Gracie Trotter, and Jeff
Batten round out the top
eight in points heading to
South Boston this weekend.
South Boston Speedway
was lightning fast last year
with a completely new
asphalt surface, but expect
more two and three wide
racing this year from the
PASS South Super Late Models
as the track has aged and
seen over a year's worth of
racing on the new surface.
All the action gets
under way on Friday at South
Boston Speedway with open
practice for all competing
divisions from 10 AM- 4 PM.
On Saturday, practice will
begin at 2 PM with
qualifying starting at 5 PM
for the PASS South Super
Late Models and NASCAR Late
Model Stocks, followed by
the pit party at 6 PM and
main events scheduled to
start at approximately 7 PM.
PASS Super Late
Model entry forms for South
Boston Speedway and Speedway
51, along with entry forms
for the 45th Annual Oxford
250 and the inaugural PASS
Commonwealth Classic can be
found at
ProAllStarsSeries.com.
The Pro All Stars Series
is recognized as North
America's premier
sanctioning body for asphalt
Super Late Models and boasts
such marquee events as the
legendary Oxford 250 at
Oxford Plains Speedway, PASS
South's Easter Bunny 150 at
the historic Hickory Motor
Speedway, and the PASS
Commonwealth Classic at
Richmond Raceway.
