Preston Peltier Powers
To 5th Easter Bunny 150
Victory At Hickory
HICKORY, NC (March 31) -
Preston Peltier survived a
second half duel with local
favorite Shane Lee to claim
the victory in the 13th
Annual Easter Bunny 150
Presented By
MyComputerCareer.edu
Saturday night at Hickory
Motor Speedway. Peltier's
fifth Easter Bunny 150
triumph pushed his overall
Pro All Stars Series (PASS)
South Super Late Model win
total to 16, the most of any
driver in series history.
"To be honest, the
car was really fast on a
short run, but the whole
setup was a little too stiff
and I thought we had messed
up," said Peltier, who
hauled his machine from
Colorado where he now lives.
"This place is just
incredible, I've never felt
it have this much grip
before. This is the first
race my daughter, Jocelyn,
has been at, she's only
eight weeks old, and I know
where this Easter Bunny's
going, that's for sure."
In qualifying, Peltier
set a new track record with
a lap of 14.470 seconds
(90.255 MPH) for his 22nd
career quick qualifying time
in PASS, bettering 39 other
competitors in the process.
After the top 10 qualifiers
redraw, Peltier would move
all the way back to the 10th
starting position, while
Tate Fogleman and Shane Lee
would move up to the front
row.
At the drop of
the green flag, Fogleman
would move into the lead
over Lee and Jerick Johnson.
The first caution flag of
the night would wave on lap
17 when Jimmy Renfrew and
Gracie Trotter collided on
the front straightaway.
Following the restart,
Fogleman would continue to
lead, while Trevor Noles
made his way into the top
five, passing Johnson for
fifth on lap 25. Just 10
laps later and after a
slight tap by Jeff Fultz in
turn two, Johnson would
spin, while Jeff Batten,
Wyatt Alexander, and Bryan
Kruzek all made hard contact
with the wall as they tried
to avoid Johnson's spinning
car.
Fogleman
continued to lead until lap
41, when two-time PASS South
Super Late Model champion,
Matt Craig, would take the
top spot on a restart. A few
laps later, Derek Griffith
would also attempt to
overtake Fogleman for
second, but Griffith would
spin while racing hard as he
entered turn one to bring
out the fourth caution of
the night.
Fogleman
would return the favor to
Craig on the next restart,
taking the lead on lap 62
for the second time in the
race. But, just five laps
later, Peltier would make
his presence know, taking
the lead away from Fogleman.
On lap 70, Roy Hayes made
contact with the backstretch
wall, resulting in Kodie
Conner and several others
colliding to bring out the
sixth caution of the night.
With Peltier still out
front, former Hickory Motor
Speedway regular, Shane Lee,
would make his way into
second, applying heavy
pressure to the leader.
Despite two late cautions,
Peltier would hold on to
take the win over Lee,
Brandon Setzer, DJ Shaw, and
Fultz. The top five
finishers each will receive
a guaranteed starting
position to either the
Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains
Speedway in August or the
Inaugural Commonwealth
Classic at Richmond Raceway
in October. Rounding out the
top 10 were Garrett Hall,
Craig, Griffith, Noles, and
Ben Rowe.
The PASS
National Championship Super
Late Models will be in
action next up on Sunday,
April 8 for The Icebreaker
at Thompson Speedway in
Connecticut. While PASS
South will hit the track
again on Friday, May 25 at
Concord Speedway as part of
the Old Glory 125.

High Stakes For PASS
Racers Looking To Win
Easter Bunny 150 Trophy
CHARLOTTE, NC (March
28) - As the 13th Annual
Easter Bunny 150 Presented
By MyComputerCareer at
Hickory Motor Speedway
approaches this weekend,
drivers and teams from
across the country are
making their annual holiday
trek to the North Carolina
Piedmont. The action-packed
Saturday of racing will also
see the return of the SMRS
Tour Modifieds to the Easter
Bunny weekend. And the state
of Pro All Stars Series
(PASS) South Super Late
Model racing in the
Mid-Atlantic appears to be
as strong as ever. As it has
since 2006, the Easter Bunny
150 Presented By
MyComputerCareer and its
iconic trophy have become
bucket list material for
many short track racers from
across North America.
But, there is even more
on the line in this year's
version of the Easter Bunny
150 Presented By
MyComputerCareer. With over
30 cars already entered, the
"Bunny" has added importance
this year as the top five
finishers at Hickory on
Saturday will each receive
guaranteed starting
positions for either the
45th Annual Oxford 250 at
Oxford Plains Speedway in
August or the inaugural
Commonwealth Classic at
Richmond Raceway in October.
Five-time PASS National
Champion, Ben Rowe, has seen
the Easter Bunny 150 since
its beginning in 2006 and he
believes the opportunity to
get locked into Oxford or
Richmond has made the stakes
even higher this year.
"I think it's just
getting bigger and bigger,"
says Rowe, a winner of the
Easter Bunny 150 in 2009 and
2016. "Everyone in the south
knows the Easter Bunny at
Hickory now. Getting locked
into the Oxford 250 or
Richmond is huge. Just look
at Bubba Pollard, one of the
best Super Late Model racers
in the country is coming to
Hickory to try and get
locked in, that says a lot."
On the other end of the
spectrum is rookie, Gracie
Trotter. Attempting just her
fifth Super Late Model start
ever, Trotter turned heads
with an impressive drive
last fall in the Mason-Dixon
MegaMeltdown at Hickory.
Coming off a history making
sixth place finish at
Caraway, which tied as the
best finish by a female ever
in PASS competition, Trotter
is ready to try her hand
again against the best short
trackers on the continent.
"I had a great run last
time I was at Hickory and in
the last chance race I held
off Ben Rowe for the win,"
says Trotter. "There are a
lot of cars in this race so
I'm going to have to stay on
my toes. I know if I stay
patient, keep the nose
clean, and watch ahead, I
can get a good finish."
Rowe and Trotter will be
up against one of the
strongest fields ever
assembled on Saturday for
the 13th Annual Easter Bunny
150 Presented By
MyComputerCareer as they
will joined by a huge
contingent of New Englanders
including former winner, DJ
Shaw, as well as South
Carolina Clash winner, Derek
Griffith, Derek Ramstrom,
Bryan Kruczek, Jimmy
Renfrew, Sammy Gooden, Joe
Squeglia, Jr., Gabe Brown,
Jake Johnson, Travis
Stearns, Dennis Spencer,
Jr., and Wyatt Alexander.
PASS South title contenders
hope to keep the home fires
burning led by Matt Craig,
Kodie Conner, Tate Fogleman,
Roy Hayes, Jeff Batten,
Jimmy Doyle, and Jody
Measamer. Jerrick Johnson
will pilot the MyComputer
Career machine and will be
joined by former Hickory
winners, Brandon Setzer and
Tyler Church, as well as
Trevor Noles, "Mad Max
McClaughlin, Darren Shaw,
Kevin Floars and rookie,
Corey Heim. And two Canadian
provinces are currently
represented by Ontario's, JP
Josiasse and New
Brunswick's, Lonnie
Sommerville, returning for
the first time in a number
of years.
The action
kicks off on Friday, March
30 with optional practice
for all competing divisions
from 2 - 5:20 PM. On
Saturday, March 31, practice
will begin at 1 PM, followed
by qualifying at 4 PM, the
pit party at 5:30 PM, last
chance race at 6:30 PM, and
features for the PASS South
Super Late Models and SMRS
Tour Modifieds at 7 PM.
The Pro All Stars Series
is recognized as North
America's premier
sanctioning body for asphalt
Super Late Models and boasts
such marquee events as the
legendary Oxford 250 at
Oxford Plains Speedway and
PASS South's Easter Bunny
150 at the historic Hickory

Bubba Pollard will
be spending his Easter
weekend at Hickory Motor
Speedway in North Carolina.
The Super Late Model veteran
from Senoia, GA will be
making the trek to the
“Birthplace of NASCAR Stars”
to compete in the 13th
Annual Easter Bunny 150.
Pollard has made a
handful of Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) starts
throughout his career, but
on Saturday he’ll be looking
to make his first Easter
Bunny 150 start and his
first PASS start since 2012.
Although his name has yet to
appear on the official entry
list for the event, Pollard
recently confirmed his plans
to enter the race.
In
addition to chasing the
Easter Bunny trophy and
$5,000 payday, Pollard looks
forward to gaining
experience racing against
competition that he plans to
race against during one of
Super Late Model racing’s
crown jewels later this
year.
“I’m excited to
race them. For one reason,
if I’m not mistaken, this is
a race that could guarantee
us into the Oxford 250.
That’s big for us because we
plan to go up to the Oxford
250 this year,” Pollard told
Speed51.com. “Not only if we
win do we get a starting
spot there, it’s important
for that, but just racing
against some of the Northern
guys that are coming down
and getting experience
racing against those guys so
we can take it into Oxford.
“It will be big to know
what we’re up against and
racing with the PASS series
because we’re not as
familiar with the rules and
what they have going. It
will be big for us to get
some seat time against the
competitors and with the
series.”
Pollard has
one previous start at
Hickory Motor Speedway, a
fourth-place finish in a
CARS Tour event last August.
The history, prestige and
character of the facility
makes it a track that he’d
like to pull his No. 26
Super Late Model into
victory lane at.
“It
has a lot of history over
the years,” Pollard began.
“It’s got character to the
race track. It’s bumpy, it’s
rough, it’s flat. It’s
everything that I like
racing on. It’s one of the
cool tracks that I’ve never
won at, so hopefully we can
check it off the list. It
has a lot of history with
Cup going there back in the
day and it would be cool to
get a win there if we
could.”
One of the
strongest competitors
sitting in Pollard’s path to
victory lane is two-time
defending PASS South
champion Matt Craig. The
Easter Bunny 150 will be the
first race that both Craig
and Pollard will be
attending since their run-in
at Greenville Pickens
Speedway (SC) in February.
Although he’s still not
happy with how thing went
down, Pollard will be
focused on one thing when
the green flag waves on
Saturday.
“I’m there
to win races,” he said. “I’m
not going for him. You’ll
never forget it, that’s for
sure. It’s always in the
back of your mind, but I’m
there to win races.”
After staying close to home
last weekend to celebrate
Easter early, Pollard will
be bringing his family to
Hickory and hopes to win his
daughter the stuffed Easter
bunny that comes with the
trophy.
“We kind of
did Easter last weekend and
we’ll make it back on Sunday
to go to church and enjoy it
with the family,” Pollard
said of his Easter plans.
“They sacrifice a lot for me
to race so it would be cool
to win it with my family
there.”
New England's Best
Racers Ready To Duel
With South Counterparts
At Easter Bunny 150
CHARLOTTE, NC (March
23) - While short track
racing appears to be on the
verge of a renaissance, one
very bright spot over the
last decade has been the
immergence of the Easter
Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor
Speedway. As it has since
2006, the Easter Bunny 150
Presented By
MyComputerCareer will pit
some of the best Pro All
Stars Series (PASS) Super
Late Models racers from
across North America against
one another at one of the
most legendary short tracks
in the country. With 26 cars
already entered, this year's
race has added importance as
the top five finishers at
Hickory will each receive

A driver that might feel he
has some unfinished business
at Hickory Motor Speedway is
Scarborough, ME's, Garrett
Hall. In last November's
Mason-Dixon MegaMeltdown at
Hickory, Hall was one lap
away from taking home
$15,000 when he got tangled
up with a lapped car and
lost out on the big prize to
hometown favorite, Brandon
Setzer.
"My team and
I are going to Hickory
looking for some redemption
and plan on getting a top
five finish to get locked
into the 250 or Richmond,"
says Hall, driver of the
Norm's Used Cars Chevrolet
#94. "It's huge to be
qualified into those events
and it will make it much
easier for us when we go to
those races."
Hall
has been one of the top
Super Late Model drivers in
New England in recent years
and believes a good run at
Hickory will set him up well
for a busy month of PASS
North racing.
"We
have a lot going on between
racing at Hickory, then to
Thompson for the North
season opener, and then to
Oxford afterwards," says
Hall. "But I feel like we
are well prepared for the
upcoming season and excited
to go to Hickory and start
it off right."
Hall
will have no lack of
competition on Saturday,
March 31 at the 13th Annual
Easter Bunny 150 Presented
By MyComputerCareer as he is
joined by a huge contingent
of New Englanders including
former winner, Ben Rowe, as
well as South Carolina Clash
winner, Derek Griffith,
Derek Ramstrom, DJ Shaw,
Bryan Kruczek, Jimmy
Renfrew, Sammy Gooden, Joe
Squeglia, Jr., Gabe Brown,
Jake Johnson, Travis

PASS South title contenders
hope to keep the home fires
