Tyler Church Bets The House To Take PASS South Opener At Dillon
DILLON, SC (March 7) - Defending Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model Champion Tyler Church took the lead from Jody Measamer with 23 laps to go and withstood a late-race restart to win the 10th Annual South Carolina Clash 125 Saturday night at Dillon Motor Speedway. Earlier in the day, Church revealed that anything less than a win could prove to be a premature ending to the 2015 season for the family financed team.

"That was a wild race, that was tough," said an emotional Church in victory lane. "We borrowed money against the house just so we could be here to race...and I'm going racing again. On that last restart I didn't want to let up until I got back up front and, dadgum, we've come this far and I was going to win this race."

In qualifying, last year's championship runner-up, Cole Timm, captured his first career PASS South quick qualifying time with a lap of 90.766 miles per hour around the egg-shaped, 4/10 mile speedway. After the top 10 qualifiers redraw, Tate Fogleman and Roger Lee Newton moved up to the front row, while Timm would slot back in the fourth starting position.

On a relatively mild late Winter afternoon, Fogleman quickly jumped in the lead position, a spot he would not soon relinquish. While Fogleman paced the field, drivers were implementing varying strategies. Jody Measmaer and Jimmy Doyle made their way up to second and third respectively, while drivers like Zane Smith and Matt Craig dropped out of the top ten in an effort to conserve their tires.

Fogleman dominated the first half of the event in one of his strongest PASS South Super Late Model performances thus far, but was overtaken by Measamer for the lead with 41 laps to go. Doyle's strong run ended 10 laps later when he pushed up into the wall exiting turn four while battling Joey Doiron for the fifth position.

All the while, Church was closing in on the leaders, first moving by Fogleman to take second, and then bypassing Measamer for the lead on lap 102. The first caution of the race would not wave until there were 18 laps to go when the machine of Kevin Floars spun exiting turn two.

Church would continue to lead when the race resumed, but the most heated battle on the speedway was for third between Fogleman and Timm. The two young drivers went back and forth for the position over several laps, making contact in turn two and then again on the back straight away. As Fogleman retook third, the two cars made contact sending Fogleman hard into the inside wall on the front stretch with nine laps to go.

Church and Measamer led the field back to green on the restart, with Trevor Noles making an aggressive three wide move for the lead entering turn one. Church powered into the lead from the middle groove, while Noles moved to second and Measamer slipped back through traffic.

Church led the rest of the way to take his first win since last May at Ace Speedway over Noles, Zane Smith, Doiron, and Measamer. Rounding out the top ten were Craig, Ryan Hall, Timm, Hal Goodson, and Newton.

Kodie Conner proved to be the picture of perseverance, bouncing back from two blown motors over the weekend, taking the lead from Chandler Smith with nine laps to go for his sixth career PASS Pro Late Model win.

"We lost a motor yesterday in practice after only 8 laps and went back home and stayed up until 4 AM putting another motor in," said Conner after his first Dillon victory. "We just got an hour and a half of sleep and I've got to thank my dad and all our guys for staying up all night and working on this Tiger 45."

The only incident of the race occurred on lap 41 when the second and third place machines of Zachary Dabbs and Austin Thompson made contact exiting turn two and both spun.

Following Conner and Smith to the checkered flag were Wesley Noles, Ryan Krachun, and Logan Jones.

Chase Purdy prevailed in a hearty race long battle for the lead to take the Legends car win over Ryan Millington, Devin O'Connell, Dillon Spain, and Will Bristle.
Sean Gartner came home with the win in the Challenger division.

The PASS South Super Late Models will be in action again in the first PASS National Championship Series event of the season on Saturday, March 21st at Anderson Motor Speedway for the Peach Blossom Special. The PASS Pro Late Models will also be in action along with the USAC Eastern Midgets and Legends.

Measamer Files First Entry
For PASS South
Carolina Clash At Dillon
CHARLOTTE, NC (February 10) – With the start of a new Pro All Stars Season (PASS) season less than a month away, Sanford, NC’s Jody Measamer #98 became the first Super Late Model driver to file an entry for the upcoming 10th Annual South Carolina Clash on March 7 at Dillon (SC) Motor Speedway. The tough 4/10 mile, egg-shaped speedway in South Carolina’s famed Pee Dee region presents a definite challenge to drivers hoping to get their seasons started off on the right foot. And, for Measamer, you might say he has a “love-hate” relationship when it comes to Dillon Motor Speedway. Of all the tracks on the 2015 PASS South Super Late Model schedule, Measamer has as much experience at Dillon as anyone. He raced Late Models and Supertrucks there on numerous occasions over the last decade before graduating to PASS South Super Late Models in 2012. But, in last year’s South Carolina Clash, Measamer experienced one of the worst crashes of his career barrel rolling down the front straightaway in a multi-car crash and destroying a brand new car. Despite that, Dillon Motor Speedway is still one of Measamer’s favorites and a place that he knows handling will be key for anyone looking to go to victory lane.

“Dillon is a tricky place because both ends of the track are totally different,” says Measamer of the track’s unique layout. “It is so important to get the car to rotate in the center of turns 3 and 4 and still have enough forward bite to get up off of turn 4. That's the case at a lot of tracks, but to me, the banking transition and sharpness of the corners make it tough. The goal is to have the car good enough through the corners to have enough tires left at the end of the race to contend for the win.”

Measamer knows that a strong start at Dillon will go a long way towards propelling a driver towards the South’s most prestigious Super Late Model championship. Reflecting back again on 2014, Measamer destroyed a second machine in the very next race at Orange County Speedway when a mechanical failure sent the car careening into the turn one wall. With those early setbacks, Measamer and the Aquavapor team skipped several races in the middle of the season with the hopes of getting back on track and focusing towards 2015. The strategy paid off with Measamer equaling his best career finish of third at Caraway Speedway’s North-South Shootout in November. Strong runs late last year have Measamer focused on scoring his first career win this year and competing for the PASS South Super Late Model title.

“I'm looking forward to 2015, we built a new car last year and it was competitive and fast the last several races we ran,” said Measamer. “Racing luck and circumstances kinda played a roll in the end result, but I feel if we can put races together and finish them, that we have the car to finish near the front. A lot of hard work has went into the car, team, and people over the off season and I would have to say that I am really pumped to unload the AquaVapor Cigarettes Chevrolet for the season opener at Dillon.”

The 2015 season will begin on Saturday, March 7 with the 10th Annual South Carolina Clash at Dillon Motor Speedway with rotating practice starting at Noon, followed by qualifying at 3:30 PM, and feature racing at 5 PM for the PASS South Super Late Models, PASS Pro Late Models, Challengers/Chargers, and Legends. Noles Brothers Quest For PASS Championships Begins At Dillon
CHARLOTTE, NC (February 19) – As the 2015 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) season approaches in just over two weeks at South Carolina's Dillon Motor Speedway, a pair of talented brothers fully expect to be part of the championship chase. Coulter Motorsports expands in 2015, fielding the Noles Cabinets #2 Chevrolet for Trevor Noles in the PASS South Super Late Model division, while newcomer Wesley Noles will drive the Wurth Military Missions In Action #22 Chevrolet in the PASS Pro Late Model division.

Trevor Noles heads to Dillon Motor Speedway for the 10th Annual South Carolina Clash as a preseason favorite for the PASS South Super Late Model championship. But, that optimism is tempered by the memory of a slow start to the season in 2014 which the team could never fully recover from. Noles finished a very disappointing 28th in last year's season opener at Greenville-Pickens Speedway and followed that up with more disappointment by finishing 14th at Dillon. However, with a full year now under his belt racing PASS South Super Late Models and teamed again with veteran crew chief Randy Renfrow, Trevor believes the team will fare much better in this year's "Clash."

“As far as Dillon last year, I had high hopes going into that race, I've had two
wins and two second place finishes there in the Pro Late Model division and
had a 3rd place finish in the Super Late Model division at the end of 2013,” says Trevor Noles. “I have always liked Dillon, just not the best of luck there last March in the Super Late Model race. Hopefully we can get the season started off on a
good note and maintain good runs throughout the season. Randy [Renfrow] and all the guys at the shop have worked hard in the off season getting everything ready for 2015.”

Momentum is no doubt on Trevor Noles side heading into 2015. He ended last season strong taking the lead late from Christopher Bell to score his first career PASS South Super Late Model win in the prestigious Mason Dixon Meltdown 200 at Southern National Motorsports Park. After finishing sixth in the final standings, Noles believes 2015 could be the year for he and his Coulter Motorsports team.

“The win at Southern National was awesome, not only for me but the entire Coulter Motorsports racing group,” Noles said. “This was the first Super Late
Model win in the PASS Series with the Coulter team. Last season was a long
year without a win until that last race. We had a lot of good finishes but
just couldn't get the wins. It boosted my confidence tremendously.”

New to the fold this year will be younger brother Wesley Noles making his PASS Pro Late Model debut at Dillon Motor Speedway on March 7. A graduate of Go Kart racing, the pressure to perform could be on Wesley in the Pro Late Model ranks. Wesley stepped away from racing at a young age to pursue baseball, but racing has always stuck in the back of his mind. And, thanks to a little prodding from Randy Renfrow, Wesley is ready to follow his brother, Trevor’s path in PASS.

“I wasn't able to go to many races last year but happened to be at Southern National in November and was able to watch Trevor wheel his car to the front,” said Wesley Noles. “Afterwards, Randy Renfrow said, ‘That could be you next year.’ That's all it took and here we are. I've never been more excited in my life. We haven't been able to practice as much so we'll just have to see how it goes. I'm very fortunate to have the many sponsors, family and friends supporting me.”

Former Dillon PASS South Winners Produce At Daytona

RYAN BLANEY
AUSTIN THERIAULT
DANIEL HEMRIC
CHARLOTTE, NC (February 24) - With Speedweeks 2015 concluding at Daytona International Speedway, race fans and pundits are now reflecting on what this year's action might tell us about the new season. Upon observation, several Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model graduates had a successful start. 2011 PASS South Super Late Model rookie, Ryan Reed, shocked the racing fraternity by capturing his first Xfinity Series win with a last lap pass of former PASS South car owner Brad Keselowski.

But, looking even closer, one notices that the 10th Annual South Carolina Clash coming up on March 7 at Dillon Motor Speedway could produce a future Daytona storyline. As a matter of fact, four of the last five South Carolina Clash winners made their debuts in various series at Daytona.

Former PASS South Super Late Model Champion Ryan Blaney made his first start in the Daytona 500 this past weekend, driving the iconic #21 for the Wood Brothers. Blaney had a strong showing, running in the lead draft late in the race before being sidelined by an engine failure.

Blaney is the only two-time winner of the South Carolina Clash at Dillon, taking the checkered flag in 2010 and 2011. In fact his win in 2010 at Dillon Motor Speedway, was his first of five career PASS South Super Late Model triumphs.

Maine's Austin Theriault actually took over the #29 Brad Keselowski Racing Ford in the Truck Series upon Blaney's move up to the Cup Series in 2015. In his first ever Truck Series start at Daytona, Theriault finished fourth in a four-wide photo finish at the line, after helping teammate Tyler Reddick to the win.

This was not Theriault's first time crossing the line in a photo finish though. In the 2013 South Carolina Clash, Theriault took advantage of race leader Preston Peltier as he slowed for the lapped car of John Hunter Nemecheck entering turn three, to take the win in the closest finish in PASS South Super Late Model history. Not only has Theriault tasted success in PASS South, but he is also a former PASS North Super Late Model winner, winning at Oxford Plains Speedway in 2012 and at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway the following year.

And finally, last year's South Carolina Clash winner, Daniel Hemric, was able to get his first experience at Daytona International Speedway. To start Speedweeks, Hemric hit the high banks for the first time with the ARCA series, getting valuable experience in the draft and finishing a very impressive 12th.

Then, Hemric joined the NTS Motorsports team for their first race together as they go for the Truck Series championship. Again, Hemric accounted himself well, running near the front, before being collected in a multi-truck accident not of his own making.

While Daytona International Speedway and Dillon Motor Speedway have little more in common than that they are both asphalt and are both located off Interstate 95, there is little denying that success at the South Carolina short track could someday lead to big things on stock car racing's biggest stage.

PASS South Season Set To
Roll Off Saturday At Dillon
CHARLOTTE, NC (March 3) - The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models are prepped and ready to go as the series prepares to kick off its 10th anniversary season this Saturday afternoon at Dillon Motor Speedway. For the fourth time in the last seven years, the South Carolina Clash at Dillon Motor Speedway will be the first race of 15 in a season that stretches through November for the PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Pro Late Models.

Dillon Motor Speedway's 4/10 mile, egg-shaped layout always presents a tough challenge to PASS competitors, but has provided many memorable finishes. In 2013, Austin Theriault used lapped traffic to his advantage to take the lead from Preston Peltier in the final corner and win in the closest finish in PASS South history. And, last year, Daniel Hemric passed Cole Timm with a handful of laps to go to take his first ever South Carolina Clash win.

After a stellar season in 2014, Timm comes back to Dillon looking for redemption and, not only as a favorite for the win, but as a seasoned veteran seeking his first championship. Likewise, last year's PASS South Super Late Model champion, Tyler Church, who has always ran well at Dillon, hopes to capture his first series win since taking the checkered flag at Ace Speedway last May.

But, a new crop of championship contenders have emerged in 2015 hopiing to start their seasons off with a win in the South Carolina Clash. Trevor Noles returns for his second season driving Super Late Models for Coulter Motorsports. Noles closed out 2014 with his first career PASS South win in the Mason Dixon Meltdown at Southern National Motorsports Park. Jody Measamer's Aquavapor-sponsored #98 also returns looking to build on several strong runs over the last two seasons. However, Measamer would like to avoid last year's exciting start at Dillon which saw him tumble several times down the frontstretch in a grinding multi-car crash. And, Californian Zane Smith, will be back in 2015, but with a new team, driving for Gary Crooks Racing out of Mooresville, NC. Smith has already had a strong start to the year, capturing the Speedweeks title at New Smyrna Speedway in February.

Woodman Racing will be back with another dual threat, but will be competing for a championship for the first time since 2013. Tate Fogleman joins Woodman Racing in 2015 hoping to better his best career finish of 3rd from a year ago at Southern National Motorsports Park. Woodman's second entry will once again have a number of drivers behind the wheel, with PASS North standout Joey Doiron piloting the car at Dillon as well as the next two PASS South races at Anderson Motor Speedway and Hickory Motor Speedway.

But, with Dillon Motor Speedway's challenging layout a veteran might have the best opportunity for a win. Two-time All Pro Series champion and multi-time Dillon Motor Speedway track champion, Hal Goodson, makes his return to PASS for the first time in a number of years. In 2010, Goodson scored his best career PASS South Super Late Model finish, coming home second to Ryan Blaney at Dillon in the South Carolina Clash. And, western North Carolina veteran Jimmy Doyle looks to start off strong at Dillon as he prepares to make a full out assault on the championship in 2015.

The PASS Pro Late Models will also kickoff their season Saturday at Dillon. Last year's champion Walker Yates, along with Nick Robinson, are making the move up to Super Late Models, which opens up this year's race for the championship. Zachary Dabbs returns to defend his win last year at Dillon, as well as the leading winner from a year ago, Kodie Conner. Newcomers this year include Wesley Noles, who will be driving as a teammate to his brother, Trevor, with Coulter Motorsports and Georgia's Chandler Smith. Smith makes the move to the PASS Pro Late Model division from the Bandolero ranks and will be racing in a close partnership with Cole Timm and his dad, Murray.

The 2015 season is just around the corner and will begin on Saturday, March 7 with the 10th Annual South Carolina Clash at Dillon Motor Speedway with rotating practice starting at Noon, followed by qualifying at 3:30 PM, and feature racing at 5 PM for the PASS South Super Late Models, PASS Pro Late Models, Challengers/Chargers, and Legends. Please go HERE for entry forms and the complete weekend schedule.

The Pro All Stars Series is recognized as North America's premier sanctioning body for asphalt Super Late Models and boasts such marquee events as the legendary Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway and PASS South's Easter Bunny 150 at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway.
